On February 18, 2025, Dr. Cinzia Pica, Ed.D., Professor of Human Services at Assumption University and Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, presented as part of the IIH Speaker Series. In her talk, “Intergroup Contact, Friendships and Prejudice Reduction in Multiethnic Schools and Communities,” Dr. Pica drew on her award-winning research in intercultural education and social justice to explore how intergroup contact and friendships can reduce prejudice in diverse educational settings. Her work has been featured in outlets such as TEDx and NPR’s Code Switch, where she discusses the importance of fostering inclusive environments and promoting racial and economic justice in schools and communities.
