Bailey Buchanan is a PhD student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she studies educational linguistics, particularly focusing on multilingualism and immigrant-origin students. Her research explores multilingual language and literacy development throughout the school years, linguistically and culturally affirming instructional practices, and sense of belonging in immigrant-origin students. She has held previous roles as a Spanish Preceptor at Harvard University, first-grade dual language immersion teacher, and instructional coach for bilingual educators. Bailey holds a master’s degree in Language and Literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Linguistics from Texas A&M University.
