This Educator Brief explores how intensified immigration enforcement and fear are reshaping school climate for immigrant‑origin students, who now comprise over a quarter of U.S. K–12 youth yet remain largely invisible in climate data. Drawing on interviews with administrators, it finds leaders value better data but view direct questions about immigration background as too risky in the current environment, and it recommends indirect, low‑risk approaches and schoolwide practices that rebuild safety, belonging, and trust.
