The Harvard Immigration Initiative invites applications from advanced-level Harvard graduate students who are writing immigration related dissertations for a one-year Immigration Research Fellows Program.

Fellows will receive $6,000 for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. The Immigration Fellows cohort will meet regularly throughout the academic year to present and receive feedback on their work and will participate in a colloquium series focused on issues of immigrant incorporation and immigration policy. The Fellows program will also provide professional development, job market support, and mentoring.

The Immigration Fellows Program is designed for students in the social sciences and humanities. Applicants must have advanced to candidacy by July 1, 2020. Students in the social sciences, humanities, and Harvard's professional schools are encouraged to apply. Interested applicants should send the following to

·         A cover letter detailing interest in the program

·         a research statement (1,000-1,200 words)

·         a curriculum vitae

·         a faculty letter of recommendation

Applications must be received by June 15, 2020. Applicants will be notified by July 30, 2020. We will fund up to six graduate students.

The broad goals of the Harvard Immigration initiative are to advance and promote interdisciplinary scholarship, original research, and intellectual exchange among faculty, students and community stakeholders with an interest in immigration policy and immigrant communities. It aims to be a vibrant space for intellectual exchange, community support, and action on campus.
