Linda Andreev is an advanced PhD candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Drawing on developmental and ecological frameworks, her research aims to understand how educators can support emergent bi/multilingual students and newly arrived immigrant youth in the classroom. In particular, she studies how educators can promote school-relevant language and literacy skills in support of academic learning. Currently, Linda’s work examines how a discussion-based curriculum, designed for students identified by schools as “English learners,” impacts teacher talk and student outcomes.

Before coming to Harvard, Linda taught English Language Development and directed language development programs for English Learners in grades 6-12. Taking advantage of her teaching and administrative roles, Linda also supported the opening and development of a Newcomer Center to address the needs of immigrant youth and their families.
